The Dropkick Murphys are doing their part to ease the pain of victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.  This week the group announced that their charity, the Claddagh Fund, had donated over $300,000 to over 60 victims of the April 15th terrorist attack.

The Celtic punk group raised the money by selling benefit t-shirts, hosting a concert in April and releasing an EP that featured three songs by the band.  The foundation also hosted a number of fundraisers.  After releasing the funds last week, the band was able to meet with many of the victims in person.

Founding member Ken Casey says many of the victims "expressed a positive attitude" as they work to get their lives back to normal.  Casey adds that the band was "humbled by the kindness" of friends and fans who supported the cause with "heart and passion."

The Claddagh Fund will continue to receive proceeds from iTunes sales of their charitable EP as well as through additional t-shirt sales.
