Guns N' Roses Is the Most-Viewed Band on YouTube From '80s, '90s

Guns N' Roses is YouTube's most-watched band from the '80s and '90s.

The band earned the distinction after the music video for "November Rain" recently surpassed 1 billion views on the video-sharing platform since being uploaded on Christmas Day of 2009. It's the first music video from the '90s to hit a billion views.

The ballad from GNR's 1991 album, Use Your Illusion I, peaked at No. 3 when it was released as a single, however at nearly nine minutes long, "November Rain" is also the longest song in history to even enter the top ten.

GNR's 1988 hit, "Sweet Child O' Mine," has accumulated close to 700 million views, since it was uploaded in 2009. That video is YouTube's most-viewed music video from the '80s.

But YouTube views are just an indicator of GNR's enduring — possibly exploding — popularity. Forbes reports that since the band's partial reunion Not in This Lifetime tour kicked off in 2016, Guns N' Roses has earned nearly $500 million on the road.

Slash only needed a fraction of that to settle his divorce.

Axl Rose's reunion with Slash and Duff McKagan is booked at least through November. The band's fanbase may only be growing.

Forbes reports the "November Rain" video averaged 560,000 views per day on YouTube in 2017, and the hits may still be increasing.

The band's iconic debut 1987 debut album, Appetite for Destruction, recently rocketed back into the Top 10 after the band's Locked N' Loaded reissue was released in late-June.
